Samsung Awards Mobile And Night Photography Aces At Xposure 2024 In Sharjah

Samsung Gulf Electronics, as the exclusive mobile brand partner at Xposure 2024, played a pivotal role in acknowledging and rewarding exceptional talent in the sphere of photography. The prestigious Xposure Photography Awards ceremony, held in Sharjah, saw individuals excelling in the Mobile and Night Photography categories, receiving accolades for their remarkable contributions to the art form. Samsung’s involvement underscores its dedication to nurturing creativity and artistic ventures.

Fadi Abu Shamat, who leads the Mobile eXperience Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, handed over the awards to the accomplished winners.

The Mobile Photography Category, sponsored by Samsung, celebrated Naitao Li from China as the winner for his poignant capture "On the Songhua River", with Joy Saha from Bangladesh receiving the runner-up title for his insightful "Plastic Bottle Recycling" entry. The Night Photography category, also sponsored by Samsung, saw Filip Hrebenda from Slovakia as the runner-up with his striking "The Night Hunter" image, while Xuejun Long from China was awarded the winning position for his captivating photograph titled "Drooling".

Empowering Through Workshops

Adding to the grandeur of the event, Samsung hosted six AI photography workshops, designed to delve into the realm of advanced photographic techniques using the Galaxy S24 Series. These sessions, led by experts in the field, provided invaluable insights into leveraging AI features for enhancing photo and video quality under varying conditions. Furthermore, an expert-led photo walk through Sharjah, utilising Galaxy AI technology, offered participants a hands-on experience, enabling them to discover and capture the emirate’s lesser-known sights.

Global Participation

The Xposure International Photography Awards witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 25,000 entries from 190 countries, showcasing a wide array of talents from around the globe. Participants hailed from diverse nations including China, India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Egypt, the USA, and the UK, among others. The awards featured several categories such as Architectural, Nature and Landscape Photography, and the newly introduced "See Sharjah" category, reflecting the vast spectrum of visual storytelling and the global reach of the event.
