OPPO Air Glass 3 Debuts At MWC 2024, Highlighting New AI Innovations

Global technology company OPPO has unveiled a prototype for its new generation of assisted reality glasses, the OPPO Air Glass 3, at Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC). The OPPO Air Glass 3 can access OPPO's AndesGPT model through a smartphone, providing users with a seamless AI experience. In addition to this, OPPO has announced the establishment of the OPPO AI Center and released the OPPO AI Smartphone White Paper, marking a new era where smartphones transition to AI smartphones.

At this year's MWC, OPPO has collaborated with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and startup AlpsenTek to introduce a new AI Motion algorithm based on Hybrid Vision Sensing (HVS) technology. This algorithm enhances photography and videography of high-speed moving objects by providing greater clarity. OPPO is also showcasing a range of products with partners, including Google, Qualcomm Technologies, and MediaTek. Additionally, OPPO smartphone users will soon be able to connect their phones to Microsoft Copilot, further enhancing the technological experiences for users.

OPPO Launches AI-Powered Air Glass 3

OPPO's new prototype, the OPPO Air Glass 3, is designed to bring users closer to AI experiences with its lightweight design. Weighing just 50 grams, the OPPO Air Glass 3 features a self-developed resin waveguide with a refractive index of 1.70 and a display brightness uniformity of over 50%. It also has a peak eye brightness of over 1,000 nits, providing users with a comfortable wearing experience and a high-quality full-color display.

The glasses have touch interaction capabilities, allowing users to easily control functions such as music playback, voice calls, and information display. The OPPO Air Glass 3 also features reverse sound field technology, an open acoustic design with four microphones, and other innovations that improve noise isolation, ensuring high audio quality and enhanced privacy protection.

AI has been a core area of investment and development for OPPO, and the company is taking steps to elevate AI to the core of its long-term growth strategy. OPPO has established the OPPO AI Center, a hub focused on R&D in AI to bring the benefits of AI to everyone. In the second quarter of 2024, the OPPO Reno11 Series and the OPPO Find N3 in global markets will be equipped with generative AI features, including OPPO AI Eraser. OPPO plans to integrate generative AI features into more products in the future, allowing more users to experience the convenience and power of AI.

OPPO has filed over 3,160 global patents related to AI as of December 31, 2023. The company recently released the AI Smartphone White Paper, providing an analysis and outlook on future trends and key applications in AI. The white paper states that AI smartphones will replace traditional smartphones, triggering a new revolution in the mobile phone industry. The widespread adoption of AI will lead to upgrades and expansions in the industry, creating a new AI smartphone ecosystem.

OPPO believes that building an AI ecosystem requires collaboration throughout the industry. The company has partnered with various global partners to support the creation of this ecosystem. At MWC, OPPO is showcasing its collaborative efforts with motion vision sensor startup AlpsenTek and Qualcomm Technologies. Together, they have developed the AI Motion algorithm, which enables image deblurring and high frame rate image interpolation for use in high-speed cameras. This algorithm enhances image and video capture, opening up possibilities for creative content creation.

OPPO's leading technologies and products have gained industry recognition for their AI capabilities. The company's self-trained generative AI model, AndesGPT, is featured in the OPPO Find X7 Series, offering impressive effects and powerful imaging performance. OPPO's innovative products, including the OPPO Find X7 Ultra and the Find N3 series, are being showcased at Google's Android Partner Walk, highlighting the cooperation between OPPO and Google in creating smarter user experiences.

OPPO has also announced a collaboration with Microsoft to enhance user experiences on different devices. Through Microsoft Link to Windows and a new plugin, OPPO users will be able to use Copilot to generate content, translate text messages, and search addresses on their smartphones via a connected PC.

In addition to its collaborations, OPPO is supporting the development of AI and other cutting-edge technologies through its partnership with the startup community. At MWC 4YFN, OPPO is introducing six startup teams at the OPPO Inspiration Zone, showcasing technologies such as contactless health monitoring and intelligent diagnosis systems. These startups demonstrate the vast potential for implementing AI technologies.

OPPO's mission is to use technology for the benefit of mankind, creating a more open and advanced global technology ecosystem. The company will continue to invest in the development and application of AI, working closely with partners worldwide to introduce industry-leading products and services that enhance mobile experiences for users.
