In a significant advancement in medical technology, Omani students from Sohar University, located in North Al Batinah Governorate, have introduced a smart bracelet and application designed for the early detection of epileptic seizures. This innovative solution, crafted by Aisha Al Omari and Lamia Al Saadi, employs Internet of Things (IOT) technology, marking a pivotal step in supporting patients who experience severe epileptic seizures. The primary aim is to expedite medical assistance, thereby minimizing potential risks and improving patient outcomes.

The development of the smart bracelet revolves around a unique idea that integrates smart design with wearable IOT technology. Aisha bint Salem Al Omari elaborated on the concept, highlighting its capability to detect the onset of epileptic seizures by monitoring two critical indicators: the movement of electrical activity in the muscles and the heart rate. Upon detection, it triggers a wireless alert system that notifies caregivers through phone calls, text messages, and audible alarms, ensuring that the patient receives prompt help.

The journey from concept to creation encompassed several crucial stages, beginning with planning and research. This initial phase involved a comprehensive study to ascertain the device's necessity, explore available technologies, analyze market demands, and determine the required features. Subsequent phases included the design and development of the bracelet, encompassing both its physical form and the software applications, followed by rigorous testing on selected patients to ensure its effectiveness. Finally, the project moved towards manufacturing, marketing, and distribution, along with ongoing after-sales support to provide users with technical help, software updates, and product enhancements based on customer feedback and technological advancements.
