NordicEPOD Secures Key Investments To Amplify Data Centre Power Solutions In Europe

In a significant development for the data center industry, NordicEPOD, a specialist in the fabrication and integration of standardized power modules, has announced a strategic commercial investment from CTS Nordics and Eaton. This partnership is set to enhance the production capabilities of NordicEPOD, a firm renowned for its innovative approach to reducing the complexity, cost, and lead times in constructing new data centers.

NordicEPOD's engineered power modules, known as EPODs, are integral to the operational efficiency and reliability of data centers. These standardized units include critical components such as Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs), switchgear, and power distribution systems, capable of supporting up to 2MW of electrical power. Designed to bridge the power grid and a data center's IT infrastructure, EPODs are fully digitally enabled, ensuring streamlined integration and superior operations through Level 1 to 3 Commissioning.

Morten Molven, General Manager at NordicEPOD, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Eaton, highlighting the global power management company's commitment and technological synergy with NordicEPOD's EPOD design. CTS Nordics, specializing in data center design and construction, offers a standardized, cost-efficient, and rapid deployment methodology for data center projects in the Nordic region. This strategic investment aims to accelerate the production output from NordicEPOD's existing factory in Oslo, with immediate plans to expand capacity. A new, larger factory is set to open in Oslo in August, boasting an impressive annual capacity of over 500MW of EPODs. Furthermore, discussions are underway for establishing another factory in Europe to further expand NordicEPOD's manufacturing footprint.
