Neumann Launches Five New KH Subwoofers For Superior Audio Performance

Neumann, a German company known for its expertise in pro audio, is expanding its product line with the introduction of five advanced subwoofers. These include the KH 805 II, KH 810 II, and KH 870 II, alongside their Audio-over-IP variants, the KH 810 II AES67 and KH 870 II AES67.

Designed to support high SPLs, these subwoofers are engineered for precision, power, and adaptability across various audio setups, from stereo to immersive audio environments.

Neumann Unveils New KH Subwoofers

Yasmine Riechers, CEO of Neumann, emphasises the evolving audio landscape, "With immersive audio becoming the new standard across music, post-production, and broadcast, reliable monitoring is more important than ever."

The new KH series subwoofers are remarkable for their power and versatility. The KH 805 II, for instance, delivers double the output of its predecessor, the KH 750 DSP, providing substantial headroom and low-end presence.

This makes it an ideal match for Neumann monitors like the KH 120 II, KH 150, or KH 310 in stereo setups. Meanwhile, the KH 810 II is designed for immersive audio production, with multichannel bass management capabilities for up to 7.1.4 systems, and the ability to manage bass for up to eleven studio monitors.

For larger spaces and more demanding applications, the KH 870 II stands out with its doubled output compared to the KH 810 II and similar multichannel functionalities. It seamlessly integrates with large-format monitors, including the KH 420, ensuring superior sound quality.

Addressing the needs of modern broadcast and networked audio workflows, the KH 810 II AES67 and KH 870 II AES67 models support 12 AES67 input channels. They are fully compatible with standards like ST 2110 and ST 2022-7 redundancy, as well as RAVENNA®, NMOS, and DANTE® streams, ensuring these subwoofers fit into any contemporary audio production environment.

The entire new lineup of KH subwoofers incorporates Neumann's cutting-edge DSP engine. This allows for precise alignment of the monitoring system through the MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment, available separately. Such integration provides room acoustic optimization and phase coherence, essential for critical listening tasks.

With the capability to extend frequencies down to 16 Hz, these subwoofers ensure clarity and control, which are vital for accurate mixing and mastering. Neumann's complete range of DSP-controlled subwoofers now caters to all monitoring requirements, from stereo to immersive audio, in various production stages, including music creation, editing, post-production, and mastering.

Stephan Mauer, head of product, asserts the remarkable improvements in the new subwoofers, noting, "Our new subwoofers offer significant advancements over their predecessors, with dramatically reduced distortion and port noise".

He further elaborates on their compatibility with both analog and DSP-controlled KH Line studio monitors, stating, "They also offer the option of precise room alignment via MA 1 of the entire system. In other words: no more low-end guesswork."
