Google Store Set To Welcome Fitbit: Complete Website Transition Scheduled For October

In a strategic move to consolidate its online presence, Google has announced that beginning in October this year, the Fitbit website will be integrated into the Google Store. This development follows the initial migration of Fitbit's help articles to Google's support platform starting in January. Furthermore, the online shop previously hosted on fitbit.com ceased operations in April, redirecting its customer base to the Google Store for all future purchases.

A significant notice has appeared on Fitbit's website alerting visitors of the impending change with a message, "On 1/10 the Fitbit store is moving. Shop Fitbit on Google Store." This announcement leads users directly to the Google Store's "Watchers & Trackers" section. Here, customers can discover a range of products, including the Pixel Watch and various Fitbit-powered devices and accessories, ensuring a seamless transition for Fitbit enthusiasts.

The Google Store's dedicated page for Fitbit products welcomes users with a reassuring message: "You made it! Google Store is your new home for all things Fitbit. Start shopping below or get help with your Fitbit account here." This page not only facilitates shopping but also provides direct links to essential Fitbit resources such as Settings, Support, Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, and Premium Subscriptions. In a related development, the Fitbit app took over the functionalities of the fitbit.com web dashboard in July, marking another step in the integration process. While no updates have been shared regarding the future of community.fitbit.com, it's worth noting that Google Support already has a comprehensive user forum system in place.

Amid these changes, Google has been expanding the Fitbit lineup. Earlier in the year, the company introduced the Ace LTE smartwatch, designed specifically for children aged seven and older. This launch underscores Google's commitment to not only maintain but also grow the Fitbit brand.

Contrary to speculation, Google has confirmed that it has no plans to discontinue the Fitbit Versa and Sense lines, despite the launch of Pixel smartwatches. This clarification comes in the wake of rumors suggesting otherwise, as reported by ArsTechnica.

Since its acquisition by Google in January 2021, Fitbit has been integrated into the tech giant's hardware division. The deal, initially announced in November 2019, was finalized at a value of $2.1 billion. This merger signifies Google's ambition to further solidify its footprint in the health and fitness technology sector.
