Ducab Group Joins Forces With Dubai Cares To Boost Education In Nepal

Ducab Group, a leading energy solutions provider and manufacturing firm in the UAE, has recently announced its partnership with Dubai Cares, a part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI). This collaboration is set to support the "Adopt a School" initiative in Nepal, marking a significant step in Ducab's new global corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts under the banner "Ducab Ducare". The initiative aims to construct and renovate schools in remote communities worldwide, including providing book supplies, gender-specific latrines, teacher training, and adult literacy programs in Nepal, Malawi, and Senegal.

The initiative specifically targets the Far Western Region of Nepal, home to the indigenous Tharu people who have faced generations of oppression and discrimination. This area reports a low women’s literacy rate of only 40 percent. Ducab's involvement will see the construction of a school equipped with three classrooms, furniture, gender-specific latrines for 90 children and 40 adults. Additionally, the community will benefit from around 18 months of adult education and literacy classes delivered by specialized trainers.

Empowering Nepalese Education with Ducab and Dubai Cares

Mohammad Almutawa, Group CEO at Ducab, expressed the company's commitment to laying a strong educational foundation for future growth. He highlighted the project's alignment with the UAE’s vision for equity, inclusion, and sustainable development globally. "This project is aligned with the UAE’s vision to foster equity, inclusion, and sustainable development for all irrespective of the country or region they belong to," Almutawa stated.

Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, CEO and Vice Chairman of Dubai Cares, emphasized the critical challenges faced by children in the Far Western Region of Nepal in accessing quality education. He pointed out that investing in education and literacy is essential for enabling families to escape poverty and equipping future generations with the tools needed to address systemic issues. "We thank Ducab Group for addressing these issues by adopting a school that will provide children in this region and their families with a solid foundation for a better, transformed future," said Dr. Al Gurg.

The collaboration between Ducab Group and Dubai Cares aligns with the six pillars of the "Ducab Ducare" initiative. These pillars highlight Ducab's commitment to improving communities, contributing to their well-being, and raising awareness about the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility. The initiative spans education and social responsibility, economy, environment, finance, and volunteering. It extends globally to reach underprivileged areas around the world, contributing to inclusive and equitable growth.
