DEWA Highlights Role In Bolstering UAE’s Innovation And Green Economy

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is actively participating in the UAE Innovation Month, known as ‘UAE Innovates 2024’. This initiative aligns with DEWA's dedication to bolstering the UAE Innovates event, recognized globally as a leading national innovation event. Throughout February, DEWA has planned a series of activities and events across its main office, the Distribution Power Division Complex, and the Warsan Complex. Additionally, DEWA will feature prominently at the UAE Innovates exhibition, hosted by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI) at Emirates Towers in Dubai.

DEWA is set to showcase over 50 innovative projects across its facilities. A notable highlight is the Innovation Week, hosted in the Innovation Tent at DEWA’s headquarters, spotlighting 14 innovative projects. Furthermore, DEWA has scheduled 18 workshops, both physical and virtual, targeting employees and school students to foster their involvement in envisioning and crafting a sustainable future. Another significant event is the Annual Innovation and Future Conference scheduled at DEWA Academy on 27th February. This conference will feature 12 distinguished local and international speakers, creatives, and innovators.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, emphasized the importance of UAE Innovates as an annual platform to exhibit DEWA’s contributions towards achieving the UAE's ambitious goals and future strategy objectives. He highlighted DEWA's commitment to advancing innovation by leveraging disruptive technologies from the Fourth Industrial Revolution. These technologies encompass generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital transformation, and cutting-edge solar and renewable energy technologies. Al Tayer pointed out that these efforts are aimed at developing forward-thinking solutions that address emerging challenges while supporting DEWA's ongoing global excellence and leadership in transitioning to a green economy.

Al Tayer further remarked on DEWA's pivotal role in supporting Dubai's advancement by redefining traditional work mechanisms to align with rapid global changes. This initiative underscores DEWA's dedication to innovation and its pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future for Dubai and beyond.
