Arab Youth Centre Hosts Forum With Chinese Students To Strengthen Leadership And Diplomacy
The Arab Youth Centre recently hosted a notable forum, uniting a delegation of students from leading Chinese universities and institutes with participants of the young Arab leadership training programme. This gathering also included experts from the United Nations, Chinese educational bodies, and other esteemed organisations. The forum's agenda was to discuss the Arab Youth Centre's strategies and projects aimed at fostering positive citizenship, enhancing the connection of Arab youth with their language and identity, and developing the youth work sector in the Arab region.
The visiting delegation was introduced to the Young Arab Diplomatic Leaders programme, a key initiative by the centre's knowledge partner. This programme focuses on nurturing promising talents in foreign relations, bolstering Arab diplomatic engagement, and facilitating effective Arab participation in significant global dialogues and forums. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, along with various Arab and international diplomatic institutes.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the review of the "Arab youth priorities" questionnaire. This survey juxtaposed the priorities of Arab youth against those of their Chinese counterparts across various domains such as education, health, environment, security, technology, arts, sports, personality development, employment opportunities, community participation, and infrastructure. Remarkably, this questionnaire represents the first study of its kind in the Arab world. It garnered participation from approximately 6,800 young individuals from diverse Arab nations, targeting youths aged 15-35.
The forum also featured a dialogue session where members of the visiting delegation explored the initiatives and programmes offered by the centre aimed at empowering young people. These initiatives are designed to enhance their competitive abilities and leadership potential across different fields. The goal is to prepare a generation of young Arab leaders capable of contributing to a brighter future for the Arab world. This is achieved through strategic partnerships with various government and private entities within the UAE and internationally.
During their visit, delegates were shown an introductory video about the Arab Youth Centre and taken on a tour of its facilities. They were briefed on various initiatives and programmes developed over the years and informed about future plans. The centre's team also addressed queries regarding the preparation and implementation of programmes for Arab youth, strategy building, and involving young people in international and regional events, particularly those hosted in the UAE.
This forum underscores the commitment of the Arab Youth Centre to empowering young Arabs by providing them with necessary skills and tools for leadership and competitive excellence. Through such initiatives, the centre aims to foster a generation equipped to lead positive changes within the Arab world.
