Why Wait? Get A Sneak Peek At iOS 18's Cool New Features Next Monday
Apple has announced that the second beta version of iOS 18 will be available next Monday. This comes just two weeks after its unveiling at WWDC 2024. The update will introduce iPhone Mirroring and enhanced SharePlay screen sharing.
iPhone Mirroring will allow Mac users to interact with their iPhone's display directly on their Mac. This includes receiving notifications and dragging and dropping content between devices. Enhanced SharePlay screen sharing will enable users to draw on each other's screens or take control of another user's screen remotely.
While Apple had previously announced a range of features for iOS 18, several, including Apple Intelligence, were not included in the initial beta release. Some of these features are expected to roll out later this year, even after the public release of iOS 18. However, Apple has confirmed that iPhone Mirroring and SharePlay screen sharing will be part of the second beta.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
In addition to these new features, iOS 18 beta 2 is expected to address various bugs, refine existing features, and potentially introduce other improvements. It will likely be released alongside the second betas for iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, and watchOS 11. This provides developers with a comprehensive update across Apple's platforms.
A public beta version of iOS 18 is scheduled for release in July. Apple has indicated that select Apple Intelligence features will also enter beta testing this summer.
