Apple To Open Its Fifth Store In The UAE, Boost Local Presence

Apple is set to enhance its presence in the UAE with the opening of a new store in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, next year. This addition will increase the total number of Apple's retail stores in the UAE to five, emphasizing the company's dedication to expanding its reach within the region.

Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, stated, "The UAE is home to an incredible community of creators, innovators, developers, and entrepreneurs, and we're excited to keep growing our teams, supporting local businesses, and strengthening our ties with our customers here." Cook continued, "We're thrilled to open our newest store in Abu Dhabi and to keep sharing the magic of Apple with even more people."

Over the last five years, Apple has significantly increased its investments in the UAE, contributing more than Dh6 billion to the local economy. This investment has created opportunities for local companies and developers, in addition to expanding Apple's workforce in the region. Currently, Apple's contributions to the UAE, including spending with Emirati companies, the iOS app economy, and direct employment, support over 38,000 jobs across the country.

Apple's retail journey in the UAE commenced with the launch of its online store in September 2011, offering a new way for customers to access Apple's products. The company opened its first physical retail stores, Apple Yas Mall and Apple Mall of the Emirates, in the country four years later.

These establishments, along with the online store, have been pivotal in providing exceptional service and support to customers. Apple's team members are dedicated to helping customers explore and purchase the latest Apple products, such as the iPhone 16 lineup, the newest Mac family, and the ultra-thin iPad Pro.

The recent UAE launch of Apple Vision Pro, Apple's first spatial computer, was met with excitement from customers and developers alike. This innovative product merges digital content with the physical world, offering transformative spatial experiences that change the way people work, connect, and enjoy entertainment.

Apple Vision Pro has opened up new avenues for developers in the UAE to create immersive experiences for users with visionOS, further enriching the app ecosystem with unique apps for iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS.

The Emirati developer community has seen significant economic growth, contributing to job creation across the country in both large and small companies. Since the inception of the App Store, UAE developers have earned nearly Dh5 billion from selling digital goods and services globally. Remarkably, their earnings have surged by over 750% since 2019.

With the introduction of Apple Vision Pro, developers in the region have found a groundbreaking platform to deliver spatial experiences, further cementing the UAE's status as a hub for technological innovation and development.
