Zayed Higher Organisation And Emirates Scholar Launch Two New Scientific Journals In Rehabilitation And Applied Psychology

The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has partnered with the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies to introduce two new academic journals. These are the International Journal of Rehabilitation & Disability Studies and the Emirati Journal of Applied Psychology. This collaboration aims to enhance specialised knowledge in rehabilitation and mental health, positioning the UAE as a leader in scientific research.

Both journals undergo strict peer-review processes by expert committees and are indexed in respected international databases. Since their announcement, they have attracted over 134 research submissions. More than 20 full-length papers are set for publication in their first issues, with over 100 additional contributions under review.

New Scientific Journals in Rehabilitation and Psychology Launched

This initiative builds on previous collaborations between ZHO and Emirates Scholar. Past projects include creating a multilingual UAE–Russian Psychology Dictionary and a GPT-based application for psychological science. The French edition of the dictionary is now available, expanding access to scientific resources across Europe.

The digital platforms supporting these initiatives have garnered over 5 million views, with the dictionary alone receiving more than 100,000 visits. These efforts promote cross-cultural academic exchange and broaden access to valuable resources for researchers globally.

Abdullah Abdulali Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, stated that "specialised knowledge and scientific research are the foundation for developing inclusive rehabilitation systems. Our partnership with Emirates Scholar is a tangible translation of this vision, creating initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of People of Determination and in society at large."

He further noted that launching peer-reviewed journals and multilingual references highlights the organisation's commitment to empowering individuals through science. This approach supports sustainable and inclusive development within society.

Upcoming Events and Contributions

The inaugural editions of both journals will be launched during the second European Arab Medical Congress from 9–11 October 2025 at Abu Dhabi Energy Center. Organised by Emirates Scholar with ZHO and the European Medical Association, it will focus on "Practical Approaches in Rehabilitation Medicine and Psychology" with global participation.

The congress will also feature the 2025 Psychology Award Ceremony, recognising outstanding research that enhances quality of life and promotes sustainable mental health practices. This event underscores the importance of innovative contributions to societal well-being.

Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director-General of Emirates Scholar Center, emphasised that these initiatives address urgent societal needs in fields crucial to improving life quality. He encouraged researchers to contribute actively with content aligned with these forward-looking goals.
