Zayed Organization And DCT Abu Dhabi Collaborate To Integrate People Of Determination Into Culture And Tourism
Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO) has entered into a partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) to create employment opportunities for People of Determination. This collaboration will involve various activities, such as exchange courses between the two organizations, converting publications into Braille, designing a virtual map with audio support for blind visitors, and enhancing educational programs in museums.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan, the Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, and His Excellency Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi.
One of the main aspects of the agreement is the nomination of People of Determination by ZHO to volunteer and participate in initiatives across museums. These individuals will contribute to the creation of products that museums can benefit from, as well as provide assistance at cafes, bakeries, and food and beverage service providers in museums. Additionally, teachers, People of Determination, and their guardians will be nominated to participate in the committee for People of Determination. They will attend sessions to understand the needs and expectations of People of Determination, design educational programs, provide consultancy services for museum websites, and review the ease of use of electronic museum sites.
His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan emphasized the importance of cooperation between ZHO and the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi in empowering People of Determination. He stated that the organization aims to create a positive environment that supports their educational, employment, and awareness needs, contributing to their social integration and positive presence in various events and activities throughout the emirate.
He also praised the collaboration between ZHO and the department in enabling everyone to enjoy unique experiences and tourist attractions that cater to all needs. ZHO has previously worked with the DCT Abu Dhabi and international hotels in the city to implement environmental adaptations for the accommodation of People of Determination in hotel facilities. This aligns with ZHO's strategy and the efforts of the department to make Abu Dhabi a city that is easily accessible, in line with the emirate's vision to become the world's best city for living, working, and visiting.
His Excellency Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, expressed the department's commitment to empowering People of Determination and encouraging their integration into various activities. He mentioned that the department focuses on meeting the needs of People of Determination in all areas, including accessibility to hotels, landmarks, and events in the emirate. The department aims to provide training and employment opportunities in the tourism and culture sectors, promoting inclusivity and solidifying Abu Dhabi's position as a supportive and welcoming destination for People of Determination.
The collaboration between ZHO and the DCT Abu Dhabi includes conducting orientation sessions about museums for teachers and therapists of ZHO, providing consultations regarding the accessibility of museums, developing a sign language dictionary, and evaluating the capacity of the tourism and hotel sector to accommodate People of Determination. They will also work on establishing a model for evaluating relevant sites, developing a guide for tourism facilities to facilitate access, and providing cultural publications for People of Determination in the tourism and hotel sectors. Additionally, sector employees will be trained to effectively receive and interact with People of Determination.
This partnership between Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi reflects the commitment of both organizations to empower People of Determination and create an inclusive society.
