Zayed Humanitarian Day: A Reflection Of UAE’s Commitment To Global Charity
In observance of Zayed Humanitarian Day, which falls on the 19th of Ramadan annually, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has spearheaded a series of charitable activities. This day is dedicated to reinforcing the humanitarian ethos that Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, deeply embedded within the nation. Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, emphasized the significance of this day in a recent statement.
Al Mazrouei remarked, "Zayed Humanitarian Day is a day of giving back to society. It mirrors the UAE's dedication to the humanitarian principles that Sheikh Zayed instilled in the UAE people. Our wise leadership has continued on this path of generosity and assistance towards those in need." He further highlighted that charitable and humanitarian efforts are integral to the community ethos in the UAE, extending support globally to individuals and communities in distress.

One notable instance of the UAE's philanthropic outreach includes its swift response to the crisis in Gaza, where it was among the first nations to provide essential aid to mitigate the hardships faced by those impacted by conflict. This act is representative of numerous philanthropic endeavors undertaken by the country.
The Minister also commended the UAE's role in supporting global communities through contributions towards renewable energy and sustainability initiatives. To commemorate Zayed Humanitarian Day, MoEI initiated several activities aimed at supporting underprivileged families and workers. These initiatives encompassed distributing Ramadan food baskets to families with limited incomes and blue-collar workers, providing packaged iftar meals for those fasting, and organizing a mass iftar event for the ministry’s support staff. The latter was attended by Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI.
These efforts underscore the UAE's commitment to upholding and spreading humanitarian values both domestically and internationally. Through such initiatives, MoEI not only honors the legacy of Sheikh Zayed but also actively contributes to fostering a culture of giving and support within the community and beyond.
