Zayed Higher Organisation Launches Initiative To Support Employees With Multiple Sclerosis On World MS Day
The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination has introduced a new initiative to support employees with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), aligning with World MS Day on 30th May. This initiative underscores the organisation's dedication to improving life quality for all People of Determination, including its staff. The programme offers psychological and social support, additional benefits, and a flexible work environment tailored to their health needs.
The initiative includes educational programmes for affected employees and their colleagues, promoting an inclusive workplace culture. Under the "Support" theme, awareness films have been launched on digital platforms. These films emphasise the importance of family, community, and work environments in supporting individuals with MS. This approach highlights the organisation’s comprehensive support model that extends beyond medical care.

Sidra Al Mansoori, Director of Services for People of Determination, noted that MS often affects those aged 20 to 40 and is more prevalent among women. She stressed the importance of early awareness and support. "We place strong emphasis on psychological and social support programmes," she said, highlighting intensified awareness campaigns in May to foster empathy and solidarity.
The organisation has previously launched initiatives like updating the People of Determination ID card with a colour representing MS. Specially coloured parking permits were also introduced in collaboration with the Integrated Transport Centre and Abu Dhabi Police to assist those affected. Additionally, awareness films about MS symptoms and coping strategies were produced alongside virtual workshops on rehabilitation therapy, psychological support, nutrition, art therapy, maternity care for patients, and workplace readiness.
Zayed Higher Organisation continues its partnership with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to deliver supportive messages to registered patients. This collaboration aims to build a sustainable community support network. The organisation reaffirmed its commitment by stating that true support begins by recognising individual needs and providing an empathetic environment.
In its final message for this occasion, the organisation urged society and institutions to be a lasting source of "Support" for those facing health challenges. It affirmed that solidarity is essential for creating a compassionate and inclusive society.
