Zayed Global Humanitarian Campaigns Launch Medical Missions In Egyptian Villages

The Zayed Global Humanitarian Campaigns have begun new medical missions in Egyptian villages, led by a joint Emirati–Egyptian volunteer team. Mobile clinics and a field hospital provide free diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care. The effort runs under the slogan: "From Heart to Heart… For You, Egypt… Following the Path and Legacy of Zayed the Giver." Organisers target large numbers of patients and volunteer professionals.

Volunteer teams have already delivered services to hundreds of children, women, and elderly people in several areas. Egyptian heart surgeon Dr. Salah Aboubakr Al Shafi, from the Arab Youth Humanitarian Leaders Programme, said the mobile units and the field hospital use advanced equipment. The teams focus on underserved communities, offering on-site examinations, treatment, and health advice, at no cost to patients from different social backgrounds.

Zayed Campaigns Launch Medical Missions in Egypt

The humanitarian work links closely with Emirati–Egyptian volunteer forums that run alongside the convoys and mobile clinics. These forums seek to attract doctors and nurses from both countries and strengthen cooperation between health and volunteer bodies. They promote volunteer medical work, community service, and humanitarian values, while enabling medical professionals to contribute practically in villages where health services are often limited or hard to reach.

Forum activities include specialised medical conferences, along with field and virtual training workshops for healthcare staff. Participants discuss practical case studies and emergency response methods, while mobile clinics and a field hospital operate in nearby villages. All services are offered in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, which supports logistics and helps ensure that care reaches diverse population groups.

The initiative in Egypt is implemented by several UAE organisations working together. The Zayed Giving Initiative leads the campaign with the UAE National Readiness and Response Programme (Jaheziya), Dar Al Ber Society, Sharjah Charity House Foundation, the Emirates Volunteer Centre, the Arab Youth Volunteer Leaders Programme, and the Young Volunteer and Humanitarian Leaders Program. Emirates Mobile Clinics for Heart Care and the National Training Institute (Tadreeb) manage field operations and training.

Dr. Adel Al Shamry Al Ajmi, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, Chairman of Emirates Doctors, and Head of the UAE National Readiness and Response Program (Jaheziya), stated that over the past 25 years, the Zayed Giving Initiative has succeeded in attracting thousands of doctors from the UAE and the Arab Republic of Egypt, from both public and private sectors, who have volunteered more than one million hours in medical convoys and camps across various Egyptian villages as part of a joint Emirati–Egyptian volunteer programme.

Regional reach of Zayed Global Humanitarian Campaigns

Dr. Adel Al Shamry Al Ajmi highlighted that Egyptian doctors are key partners in all Zayed Giving Initiative missions. Participation extends beyond current work in Egypt to earlier missions since 2000, launched from the UAE. These included deployments in Morocco, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Jordan, Eritrea, Tanzania, and Egypt, serving millions of children and elderly people through mobile hospitals and well-equipped specialist clinics.

According to Dr. Adel Al Shamry Al Ajmi, thousands of heart procedures were completed in these mobile medical units, supervised by senior surgeons from international university hospitals. The teams used modern medical technologies to diagnose and treat complex heart conditions. This long-running cooperation between Emirati and Egyptian doctors built experience in field medicine, rapid deployment, and health support for vulnerable groups in different countries.

Zayed Global Humanitarian Campaigns and shared humanitarian values

Abdullah bin Zayed, Chairman of the Board of Dar Al Ber Society, stated that the Emirati–Egyptian volunteer forums aim to attract Emirati and Egyptian medical professionals, promote the culture of volunteer healthcare, community giving, and human tolerance, and empower medical cadres to serve humanity. This aligns with the humanitarian spirit of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and follows the directives of the wise leadership in both brotherly countries to strengthen partnerships between Emirati and Egyptian health, humanitarian, and volunteer institutions, and to adopt innovative initiatives that provide sustainable solutions to advance the health and community sectors.

Sultan Al Khayal, Secretary General of Sharjah Charity House Foundation, stated that the Emirates–Egypt Doctors Forums coincide with the work of medical convoys and mobile clinics that have begun their volunteer missions in Egyptian villages under the slogan "From Heart to Heart," aiming to strengthen relations between health, humanitarian, and volunteer institutions in both brotherly countries and activate joint efforts to adopt innovative initiatives that enhance health, promote the culture of volunteer healthcare among medical professionals, and empower them to serve communities. This comes as a gesture of gratitude to Egypt, which contributed to the development and establishment of the UAE through the efforts of its doctors, engineers, and educators.

Professional development within Zayed Global Humanitarian Campaigns

Sultan Al Khayal added that the forums help create an active environment for exchanging expertise between Emirati and Egyptian medical workers. Discussions cover new medical developments and community health initiatives suited to local needs. Participants also outline future volunteer projects designed to improve preventive care, strengthen community health awareness, and encourage more structured participation from young doctors and nurses in humanitarian fieldwork.

Dr. Salah Aboubakr Al Shafi explained that many Egyptian medical professionals show strong interest in the Zayed Global Humanitarian Campaigns in different countries. Volunteers join missions as part of a long-term humanitarian commitment. Dr. Salah Aboubakr Al Shafi noted that the UAE is among the world’s leading countries in providing assistance and implementing healthcare programmes for underprivileged patients regardless of colour, gender, or religion.

Dr. Salah Aboubakr Al Shafi praised the pioneering role of Emirati and Egyptian volunteer doctors who worked in convoys across Egypt over 25 years. These efforts, which focused on children and elderly people, benefited more than one million individuals overall. The current missions in Egyptian villages continue that record, combining medical treatment, health education, and professional training under a shared humanitarian framework.
