Zayed Charitable Foundation Rolls Out Global Ramadan Aid For Hundreds Of Thousands
ABU DHABI, 12th March, 2024 - The Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation (Zayed CHF) has announced the commencement of its diverse Ramadan initiatives, set to span the entire Holy Month. These initiatives are designed to support around 600,000 individuals through four key programmes: Ramadan Mir, UAE Iftar, International Iftar, and Fast-breaking. This effort aligns with the foundation's mission to provide aid and spread joy among communities both within the UAE and globally.
The UAE Iftar initiative will see the foundation hosting iftar gatherings at nine strategic locations across the country, aiming to serve 135,000 beneficiaries. These locations are strategically chosen to cover a broad spectrum of communities, including Rabdan School and Mussafah Zakher Masjid in Al Ain, workers’ accommodations in Al Dhafra and downtown Delma in Abu Dhabi; Al Rahma Mosque and workers’ accommodations in Al Quoz, Dubai; Al Rashidiya in Ajman; the market area in Umm Al Quwain; and Khuzan in Ras Al Khaimah.

In an ambitious move to extend its humanitarian reach beyond borders, Zayed CHF is launching its International Iftar programme across more than 17 countries. This initiative is being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UAE embassies abroad. Beneficiaries include over 350,000 individuals in countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Yemen, Egypt, Morocco, Brazil, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Russia, Sri Lanka, Serbia, Jordan, Maldives, Spain, Tanzania among others.
Ramadan Mir: Supporting Families
The Ramadan Mir programme is another cornerstone of the foundation's Ramadan efforts. It focuses on distributing vouchers for essential items like rice, oil, flour among other basics to 2,200 low-income families. This initiative is crucial for ensuring that needy families have access to necessary food supplies during the Holy Month.
Fast-Breaking Initiative
As part of its comprehensive Ramadan outreach, Zayed CHF is also implementing a fast-breaking distribution programme at 12 locations across all emirates. This programme is particularly designed to provide convenience to drivers during iftar time and aims to discourage speeding and rushing on roads.
Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, Director-General of Zayed CHF, highlighted that these programmes are a reflection of the UAE leadership’s vision of comprehensive humanitarian efforts. He emphasized that these initiatives are inspired by Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of generosity during Ramadan. Dr. Al Falahi also extended his gratitude towards the foundation’s volunteers and employees for their dedication to distributing meals and aiding in these programmes.
The Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation's Ramadan initiatives are a testament to the spirit of giving that defines the Holy Month. By providing meals domestically and internationally, distributing essential goods to families in need, and ensuring safety on the roads at iftar time, the foundation continues to uphold the values of compassion and community support that were exemplified by Sheikh Zayed.
