Zayed Authority For People Of Determination Celebrates UAE’s 54th Union Day With Nations March In Al Ain
The Zayed Authority for People of Determination hosted a significant event named Nations March in Al Ain, marking the UAE's 54th Union Day. This initiative, part of the Year of Community, was themed "54 Million Steps for the Nation." Over 16,000 participants from various backgrounds joined, showcasing a strong sense of national pride and unity.
The event began with participants raising a 1,200-metre UAE flag. This flag was crafted by 27 People of Determination from the Authority’s vocational rehabilitation workshops in Al Ain. This act highlighted their resilience and contribution to nation-building. The march covered a 2.5-kilometre route, with participants collectively recording over 54 million steps, averaging 3,375 steps each.

Abdullah Abdulalee Al Humaidan, Director-General of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, stated that Nations March symbolises loyalty and belonging. He emphasised that it reflects the UAE’s dedication to including everyone in development efforts. He noted that the handcrafted flag represents leadership's belief in the abilities of People of Determination.
Various groups enriched the patriotic atmosphere, including mounted units, the Abu Dhabi Police Band, national service recruits, senior citizens, students, and representatives from both government and private sectors. This diverse participation reinforced social cohesion and demonstrated national unity.
Moza Al Salami from Abu Dhabi Autism Center expressed that People of Determination not only crafted but also lifted the flag with their hearts. She highlighted how this event embodied union and solidarity values while showcasing their role as creators of achievement and inspiration.
Strategic Partnerships
First Abu Dhabi Bank provided primary support for Nations March. Key strategic partners included Al Ain City Municipality and the Department of Municipalities and Transport. Additional support came from entities like Al Baddad Construction, Al Masaood Equipment Rental, AM Industries, Al Ain Water, and Al Fardan Exchange.
Several national entities ensured smooth organisation. These included Abu Dhabi Police, Integrated Transport Centre, Civil Defense Authority, Emirates Falcons Aviation, Emirates Foundation–Sanad, Military Secondary Schools and Fann Hospitality Services. Their cooperation highlighted strong ties between government and private sectors.
The event concluded under a unifying scene beneath the UAE flag. It symbolised loyalty and belonging while reflecting Emirati determination that continues to shape the nation's journey forward.
