ZATCA Urges Taxpayers To Take Advantage Of Fines Cancellation And Penalties Exemption Initiative
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has extended an initiative allowing taxpayers to benefit from the cancellation of fines and exemption from penalties. This initiative is available until a specified date. It includes waivers for late registration, payment, and filing fines under all tax laws. Additionally, it covers penalties for correcting VAT returns and violations related to VAT field control and e-invoicing regulations.
To qualify for this exemption, taxpayers must be registered with the tax system. They need to submit any previously unfiled returns to ZATCA and settle all outstanding principal tax debts associated with those returns. Taxpayers can also apply for an installment plan during the initiative's active period. All installments must be paid on time according to the approved schedule.

However, the initiative does not cover penalties related to tax evasion or fines settled before its commencement. ZATCA has provided simplified guidelines on its website detailing the types of penalties covered, conditions for benefiting from exemptions, steps for managing installment payments, and information on field control violations.
ZATCA encourages taxpayers to review these guidelines thoroughly to understand the initiative's benefits. The authority has made these resources accessible online to ensure taxpayers are well-informed about their options. For further assistance or inquiries, taxpayers can contact ZATCA through various channels.
The unified call center is available 24/7 at 19993. Alternatively, taxpayers can reach out via email at [email protected] or engage in live chat on the ZATCA website (zatca.gov.sa). The X Account (@Zatca_Care) is also available for support.
ZATCA emphasizes that this initiative aims to facilitate compliance by easing financial burdens on taxpayers. By taking advantage of this opportunity, taxpayers can manage their obligations more effectively while avoiding additional penalties.
