ZATCA Urges Taxpayers To Take Advantage Of Fine Cancellation And Penalty Exemption Initiative Before June Deadline
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) is urging taxpayers to utilise the initiative that waives fines and exempts them from financial penalties. This opportunity concludes at the end of June. The initiative includes exemptions for late registration across all tax systems, delayed payments, and late filing of returns.
To qualify for these benefits, taxpayers must be registered in the tax system, submit all necessary returns, and pay the full principal amount owed. Additionally, they can request to pay taxes in instalments if done within the initiative's timeframe. All instalments must be paid promptly according to an approved payment plan.

The initiative also covers fines for correcting value-added tax (VAT) returns and violations found during field inspections related to electronic invoicing. However, it does not include fines related to tax evasion or those paid before the initiative began. ZATCA has made a simplified guide available on its website detailing the types of fines covered, exemption conditions, and steps for instalment payments.
ZATCA encourages eligible taxpayers to take advantage of this initiative before it expires. They can reach out with questions through various channels including a 24/7 call centre at 19993, via email at [email protected], or through instant messaging on their website www.zatca.gov.sa.
The authority provides a detailed explanation of the initiative on its official website. This includes examples of applicable field violations and other general provisions under the VAT system. Taxpayers are advised to consult this guide for comprehensive information.
For further assistance, taxpayers can also contact ZATCA through their social media handle (@Zatca_Care) on the X platform. The authority remains committed to supporting taxpayers throughout this process.
