ZATCA Successfully Foils Smuggling Attempts Of Over 220,000 Prohibited Pills Across Multiple Ports
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has recently intensified efforts to prevent drug smuggling at key Saudi ports. They successfully intercepted three separate attempts to smuggle over 220,000 illegal pills. These operations took place at the King Fahd Causeway, Haditha, and Dabaa ports.
At the King Fahd Causeway, authorities discovered 120,370 Captagon pills along with 45,975 other illegal pills hidden within a vehicle's door cavities. This marked the first significant interception in their recent operations. Meanwhile, at Haditha port, customs officials uncovered 21,011 Captagon pills concealed within a passenger's suitcase filled with clothing.

Another successful operation occurred at Dabaa port where customs officers found 34,084 Captagon pills hidden in the cavity of a truck's driver's seat. These interceptions highlight ZATCA's commitment to combating drug smuggling and protecting society from harmful substances.
ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to arrest two individuals suspected of being involved in receiving these illicit goods within the Kingdom. This collaboration underscores their dedication to maintaining societal security by curbing illegal activities.
The authority encourages public participation in fighting smuggling attempts to protect both society and the national economy. Citizens can report smuggling crimes confidentially by calling (1910), using the international number (009661910), or emailing ([email protected]). Accurate information may lead to financial rewards.
ZATCA remains steadfast in its mission to enhance customs control over imports and exports across Saudi Arabia. By remaining vigilant against smuggling attempts, they aim to fulfill a crucial part of their strategy focused on societal safety and protection.
Through these comprehensive measures and community involvement, ZATCA continues its fight against drug smuggling while ensuring strict confidentiality for those who report violations of the unified customs system.
