ZATCA Encourages Early Use Of Fines And Penalties Cancellation Initiative
The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) is urging taxpayers to benefit from the Cancellation of Fines and Exemption of Penalties initiative. This initiative has been extended until further notice. It covers fines for delayed tax registration, late payments, and tardy filing of returns across all tax laws.
Exemptions also include fines for correcting VAT returns and penalties related to VAT field control breaches. These breaches pertain to e-invoicing regulations and other general VAT rules. To qualify for the exemption, taxpayers must register with the tax system, submit all previously unfiled returns, and settle any principal tax debts linked to these returns.

The initiative allows taxpayers to apply for an installment plan from ZATCA. Applications must be submitted within the initiative's active period. All scheduled installments must be paid by the due dates specified in the approved installment plan.
However, penalties related to tax evasion violations are not covered by this initiative. Additionally, fines paid before the effective date of the initiative are excluded from exemptions.
ZATCA advises taxpayers to consult a simplified guide available on its website. This guide provides a comprehensive explanation of critical aspects addressed by the extension. It includes details on covered penalties, exemption conditions, procedures for paying dues in installments, and violations related to field control.
Contact Information
For any queries regarding the initiative, ZATCA encourages individuals to contact their unified call center at (19993), which is available 24/7. Alternatively, they can reach out via X account (@Zatca_Care), email ([email protected]), or instant messaging on the ZATCA website (zatca.gov.sa).
This extension aims to provide relief to taxpayers while ensuring compliance with tax regulations. By taking advantage of this initiative, taxpayers can avoid additional financial burdens due to fines and penalties.
