Youth Athletes Showcase Skills At Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship In Fujairah

The Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah was bustling as the seventh round of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship commenced. The event featured the much-anticipated No-Gi category, drawing significant attention to the Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16 divisions. Young athletes showcased their growing skills and adaptability, impressing coaches, officials, and families with their quick thinking and tactical prowess.

By the day's end, Sharjah Self-Defence Club retained its top position in the rankings. Palms Sports followed in second place, with Al Ain Club securing third. The event was attended by notable figures including Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri and Yousef Abdullah Al Batran from the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation. Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali, Abdullah Salem Al Zaabi, and Ali Qaddour were also present.

Youth Shine at Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Fujairah

Al Dhaheri commended the progress of jiu-jitsu among UAE youth, noting that Round 7 highlighted significant advancements. "The great performances we witnessed today offer hope for the future, demonstrating that we have a strong foundation capable of competing regionally and internationally," he stated. He emphasized that this tournament aligns with leadership goals to use sports for instilling values and enhancing national identity.

The championship has become more than just a sporting event; it is a national celebration uniting athletes and families across emirates. "Today’s event in Fujairah went beyond sport—it became a national celebration," Al Dhaheri added. The competition fosters noble values such as discipline, tenacity, and respect while strengthening community bonds.

Antonio Inacio, coach at Shabab Al Ahli Club, praised his players for their impressive physical strength and tactical intelligence. "Our players impressed not only with their physical strength but also with their tactical intelligence and composure under pressure," he said. At Shabab Al Ahli, emphasis is placed on both mental and technical preparation to ensure adaptability against any opponent.

The action continues on Sunday with competitions in the Under-18, Adults, and Masters categories. The ultimate No-Gi winner of the season will be determined as these events unfold.
