Youth Social Missions Programme Empowers Emirati Youth Through Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 Completion
The Youth Social Missions Programme, part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, recently concluded its second cohort. This initiative aims to equip young Emiratis for global social missions. A ceremony in Al Arish celebrated the participants' contributions to the UAE's humanitarian efforts. Khalid Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director of the Federal Youth Authority, honoured them for their significant roles in supporting these missions.
During the ceremony, volunteers shared experiences from their field tasks, enhancing their practical skills and understanding of solidarity. Khalid Al Nuaimi also visited the UAE humanitarian aid logistics centre in Al Arish. He examined how aid is received, stored, and prepared for Gaza-bound convoys. Additionally, he toured the UAE Floating Hospital, commending the medical teams for their work with Palestinian patients.
The programme empowers young Emiratis by developing their skills in community and humanitarian work. It offers opportunities to engage in field initiatives that embody values of giving and responsibility. Participants gain insights into the UAE's global relief efforts through hands-on experiences.
Al Nuaimi emphasised that this participation reflects the UAE's commitment to aiding those in need worldwide. He highlighted that humanitarian work is integral to the nation's identity and leadership values. These values encourage Emiratis to help others without regard for borders or crises.
Participants spent a week in Al Arish as part of an integrated experience under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. They engaged directly with logistics operations, preparing food parcels and readying trucks for aid convoys to Gaza. This firsthand involvement allowed them to witness the impact of their efforts.
The young volunteers also visited desalination stations aiding Palestinian access to water. They learned about these stations' technical capabilities and their role in alleviating Gaza's humanitarian crisis. At Rafah border crossing, they observed how prepared aid reaches its destination.
Personal Reflections
Wasaif Saeed Al Shehhi, a participant from the second cohort, shared her experience: "Volunteering at the UAE Floating Hospital allowed me to experience the true meaning of giving. Bringing joy or easing pain for a patient, even with a word or a smile, was deeply meaningful. At the logistics centre, I felt immense gratitude and pride preparing the aid parcels, knowing every parcel carries part of our humanity to our brothers and sisters in Gaza. It made me feel part of something greater, part of the UAE’s message of giving and solidarity."
The programme also included visits to medical facilities like the UAE Floating Hospital. Here, participants observed specialised care provided by medical teams and engaged socially with patients and companions for a day.
A Legacy of Giving
The involvement of these young Emiratis signifies their desire to contribute to the UAE's legacy of generosity by joining humanitarian missions. They learn about field challenges while working alongside experienced relief teams active since Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 began.
This operation exemplifies the UAE’s comprehensive approach to supporting those in need through various initiatives directed at Gaza's people. These include land, sea, and air bridges; field hospitals; logistics centres; desalination stations; and other projects aimed at providing relief.
The Youth Social Missions Programme is overseen by the Federal Youth Authority as one of the UAE’s leading initiatives for empowering youth through community engagement globally.
