Youth Businesses Joining Abu Dhabi Chamber Surge By 97.8% In One Year, Reflecting Economic Growth
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) is dedicated to empowering young individuals and enhancing their role in economic growth. Through the Abu Dhabi Youth Business Council, it supports young entrepreneurs, aligning with the Emirate’s focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. Recent data from the Chamber shows a 97.8% rise in youth memberships from 2023 to 2024, highlighting Abu Dhabi's appeal as a vibrant business hub.
By August 2025, over 21,240 members aged 18 to 35 joined the Chamber, with a registered capital surpassing AED 14.9 billion. This reflects the increasing impact of youth on the national economy. The membership comprises nearly equal numbers of Emiratis (49%) and non-Emiratis (51%), showcasing the diverse nature of Abu Dhabi’s business community.

A significant portion, about 40%, of young entrepreneurs are involved in wholesale and retail trade. Other sectors include construction, administrative services, hospitality, and restaurants. The Abu Dhabi Youth Business Council plays a crucial role by offering free consultancy for business setup, membership in the "Abu Dhabi Youth Business Gateway" platform, support for commercial licenses, and assistance with local and international expansion.
Mansoor Al Sayegh, President of the Abu Dhabi Youth Business Council, stated: "The Abu Dhabi Youth Business Council serves as a vital platform enabling young entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into impactful ventures that drive economic growth. We believe youth should not wait for opportunities but shape them with fresh thinking and bold ambition, and our programmes and specialised initiatives are designed to achieve this."
Strategic Framework for Empowerment
Al Sayegh outlined that the Council’s strategy is based on five pillars: representing youth interests, developing legislation and governance, building skills and qualifications, strengthening partnerships and networking, and promoting business opportunities. These efforts are supported by ADCCI's focus on youth empowerment as a priority.
Al Sayegh also emphasised that the Chamber is committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating business environment that enables youth to compete locally, regionally, and internationally, further cementing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Chamber's initiatives aim to boost youth participation in the economy while empowering them to shape future business landscapes. This aligns with Abu Dhabi’s vision of fostering a competitive, diversified economy that is sustainable for future generations.
