Young Indian Child Commended By Dubai Police For Returning Lost Item

In a heartwarming display of honesty and civic responsibility, a young Indian child with determination has been lauded by the Dubai Police for his act of integrity. The child, Muhammad Ayan Younis, found a lost watch belonging to a tourist and promptly returned it, showcasing the high moral standards promoted in the UAE.

The commendation came directly from the top echelons of the police department, with Brigadier Harib Al Shamsi, Acting Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, initiating the recognition. The Dubai Tourist Police Department took the lead in honouring Muhammad for his noteworthy deed.

The incident occurred when Muhammad was with his father in a tourist area. Upon discovering the watch, they did not hesitate to hand it over to the Dubai Police, trusting in the force's ability to locate the rightful owner. The Dubai Tourist Police confirmed the ownership of the watch through their diligent verification process, revealing it belonged to a tourist who had already left the country after reporting the watch as lost. The police's successful effort to return the watch underscored Dubai's commitment to security and integrity, garnering appreciation from the tourist.

Brigadier Khalfan Obeid Al Jallaf, Director of the Tourist Police Department, together with his team, presented Muhammad with an award, acknowledging his admirable behaviour. This gesture not only highlighted the child’s act of honesty but also reflected the broader values of security and ethical standards upheld in the UAE’s tourism sector.

Furthermore, Al Jallaf seized this opportunity to encourage the community to follow in Muhammad Ayan Younis’s footsteps. He promoted the use of smart lost and found services available at Smart Police Stations (SPS), emphasizing the ease with which individuals can assist in reuniting lost items with their rightful owners. This initiative is part of Dubai Police's broader effort to foster a responsible and cooperative community, contributing to the UAE's reputation as a safe and secure destination for tourists.
