Yemeni Council Chairman And Saudi Minister Discuss Peace And Stability

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, met with Saudi Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, on Wednesday during his visit to the Kingdom. The defence minister conveyed greetings from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.

King Salman and the Crown Prince extended their wishes for security, stability, and prosperity to Yemen and its people. Dr. Al-Alimi reciprocated by sending his greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince. The meeting underscored the strong fraternal ties between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

Talks on Yemen Peace Efforts

During their discussions, they reviewed the latest developments in Yemen and efforts to support peace. They also assessed progress on the roadmap aimed at resolving the Yemeni crisis and achieving a comprehensive political solution under United Nations auspices. This solution seeks to unify Yemeni factions and meet the aspirations of its people.

The defence minister reiterated Saudi Arabia's unwavering support for Yemen's security and stability. He emphasised the Kingdom's commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people. The reception was attended by several key officials from both countries.

From Saudi Arabia, attendees included Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber and Director General of the Minister of Defence Office Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif. Representing Yemen were Presidential Office Director Dr. Yahya Mohammed Ashuaibi and Presidential Council Office Director Major General Saleh Al-Muqalih.

The meeting highlighted ongoing efforts to foster peace in Yemen and strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations. Both sides expressed optimism about future cooperation and continued dialogue aimed at achieving lasting peace in Yemen.
