Yemeni Information Minister Praises Saudi Arabia As Key Supporter For Sustainable Development Initiatives

The Yemeni Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, along with Al-Mahrah Governor Muhammad Ali Yasser, recently visited the kidney dialysis center in Al-Mahrah Province. This facility was established by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) with support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief). During their visit, they assessed the center's operations and its role in providing medical care to patients with kidney failure.

Al-Eryani expressed appreciation for KSrelief’s contribution to delivering daily dialysis services using modern equipment that meets current standards. He highlighted KSrelief’s efforts in funding the center's operations and offering free medical services to kidney patients. Since its inception in early 2020, the center has conducted over 20,000 dialysis sessions and provided numerous tests and prescriptions to benefit both local residents and those from across Yemen.

Saudi Arabia's Vital Role in Yemen's Development

The minister extended his gratitude to Saudi Arabia's leadership under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for their humanitarian efforts toward Yemen. He emphasized that these initiatives are a testament to Arab and Islamic solidarity, enhancing the resilience of Yemenis during challenging times. The establishment of health centers like this one reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to alleviating Yemeni suffering.

Al-Eryani noted that Saudi Arabia has been a steadfast supporter of Yemen not only in political and economic arenas but also in humanitarian efforts. These contributions have significantly aided sustainable development in Yemen, empowering communities to build a better future. The minister reiterated that such support is crucial at this historical juncture and will be remembered as a symbol of strong ties between the two nations.

The kidney dialysis center has provided 44,874 tests, 24,966 prescriptions, and 90,000 services since it began operations. These services have been vital for residents of Al-Mahrah Province as well as individuals traveling from other parts of Yemen seeking medical assistance. The facility's comprehensive care has been instrumental in improving health outcomes for many patients suffering from acute and chronic kidney conditions.

Al-Eryani stressed that Saudi Arabia's support extends beyond immediate relief efforts; it also focuses on long-term development goals. This approach helps strengthen Yemeni communities' ability to progress despite ongoing challenges. The minister underscored that this generous assistance will not be forgotten by the Yemeni people who remain grateful for these noble efforts.

In conclusion, the visit highlighted the significant impact of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian initiatives in Yemen. Through projects like the kidney dialysis center, Saudi Arabia continues to play a pivotal role in supporting Yemenis during difficult times while fostering hope for a brighter future.
