Yemen Coalition Condemns Attack On Giants Brigades Commander And Vows Firm Response
The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen condemned a terrorist attack against a convoy carrying Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri, Commander of the Second Division of the Giants Brigades, in Lahj Governorate. The incident caused deaths and injuries among those accompanying Hamdi Shukri, and was described as a serious threat to security.
Official Spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Malki said the coalition views the assault as a grave criminal act, violating human and moral values. Al-Malki extended condolences to the families of those killed, and wished the wounded a quick recovery, stressing the coalition’s ongoing responsibility toward the Yemeni population.

Major General Turki Al-Malki affirmed that the coalition will respond with an "iron fist" to any attempts targeting Aden or liberated governorates, or efforts that seek to damage national unity. Al-Malki explained that continuous coordination is underway with relevant Yemeni authorities to protect civilians and stabilise conditions.
The attack occurred in the Jaoula area of Lahj Governorate in the evening, according to the spokesperson. Saudi Press Agency reported that the statement was issued at 01:18 local time, corresponding to 22:18 GMT, underlining the speed of the coalition’s public response following the incident.

The spokesperson stated that sabotage and terrorist operations in liberated governorates would not succeed in disturbing social peace, adding that the coalition remains committed to backing efforts that sustain security and stability.
According to Al-Malki, the coalition continues to support Yemeni security institutions in tracking those responsible for the attack and ensuring they face justice. Al-Malki highlighted the need for combined regional and international action against terrorism, including efforts to tackle ideological drivers and financial networks that enable such operations.
Concluding the statement carried by Saudi Press Agency, Al-Malki called on all parties in Yemen to place wisdom and national interest first. Al-Malki warned that the coalition would act firmly against any side that seeks to endanger the security and safety of Yemeni society.
