Xposure 2024 Welcomes Yanomami Tribe Leader Junior Hekurari in Conservation Summit

The 8th edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival, set to unfold at the Expo Centre Sharjah from February 28 to March 5, is gearing up to host a significant event - the Conservation Summit. This year, the summit will shine a spotlight on Junior Hekurari, an environmental activist and leader of the Yanomami tribe in the Amazon, acknowledging his commendable efforts in environmental conservation. Hekurari has been at the forefront of the battle against deforestation and its detrimental impacts on both the environment and indigenous communities in Alto Alegre, Roraima, northern Brazil.

Organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), the festival aims to foster discussions on environmental issues through its Conservation Summit. The summit will feature 15 distinguished speakers, including acclaimed photographers and conservationists like Charlie Hamilton James, Florian Schulz, Kathy Moran, Beth Wald, Kiliii Yuyan, Sandesh Kadur, Melody Mnisi, Karabo Magakane, Rifumo Mathebula, and Mike Kendrick.
