Traditional Arts Forum In Riyadh Under Culture Minister Patronage Hosted By Wrth
Minister of Culture Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan is patron of a new forum. Prince Bader also chairs the Board of Trustees of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts. The institute, known as Wrth, is organising the Traditional Arts Forum in Riyadh. Events run at King Fahad Cultural Center from January 25 to 27. The gathering highlights traditional arts as central to Saudi national identity and leadership support.
Forum activities are structured around six main pillars. These pillars join research, cultural dialogue and interactive experiences with specialist publications. They support capacity building and knowledge transfer across the traditional arts sector. The pillars also encourage international cultural cooperation and a forward-looking vision for traditional arts. The forum is also expected to launch new Wrth publications for experts and enthusiasts.

The Traditional Arts Forum serves as a scientific platform for discussion and training. Its programme presents more than 30 panel discussions and lectures. Participants can also attend six workshops held with Korea National University of Cultural Heritage. Over 80 speakers from Saudi Arabia and abroad are taking part. Several enabling agreements are planned to support the sector. These agreements seek to link traditional arts with contemporary development methods and wider economic activity.
The forum is expected to unveil a series of Wrth titles. One publication will detail traditional Bedouin Sadu weaving. Another will examine entrepreneurship within traditional arts. A further book, the Wrth guide to traditional arts terminology, will clarify key terms. These works help organise knowledge in this field and build a stronger reference base. They support national efforts to develop and protect traditional arts for future generations.
