Worlds Coolest Winter Campaign Drives AED 12.5 Billion Hotel Revenue In UAE
The sixth edition of the "World’s Coolest Winter" campaign generated hotel revenues of AED12.5 billion and welcomed about 5 million hotel guests over six weeks, according to Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, with occupancy levels reaching 84%, among the highest globally.
Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri told the Emirates News Agency that these outcomes highlight the strength and diversity of the UAE tourism sector, adding that the campaign helped raise the country’s regional and international competitiveness and aligned with wider economic objectives guided by the UAE’s leadership.

The Minister noted that the UAE tourism sector is showing solid performance, with tourism currently contributing about 15% to GDP, compared with a 17% target set under the UAE Tourism Strategy 2031, describing these indicators as evidence of resilience and sustainable sector growth.
Running from 16th December for six weeks, the sixth "World’s Coolest Winter" campaign highlighted eco-tourism locations, nature-rich green areas, and distinctive winter activities across all emirates, forming a core part of efforts to support the UAE Tourism Strategy 2031 and promote the country as a key seasonal destination.
According to Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the campaign drew strong public interest, wide social media interaction, and broad media coverage at local, regional, and international levels, reaching nearly 900 million followers through more than 50 local and international content creators participating in its various activities.
Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri said that preliminary indicators for the UAE tourism sector in 2025 show significant growth potential, and stressed that the UAE is now a year-round destination supported by advanced infrastructure, transport networks, airports, and modern facilities that meet the expectations of visitors from different global markets.
