World Water Day Urges Global Focus On Water Scarcity And Sustainability

On the occasion of World Water Day, marked annually on March 22, Dr. Fahad Abu-Mouti, the head of the founding team of the Global Water Organization (GWO), highlighted the critical importance of addressing global water scarcity issues. He emphasized the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's proactive role in aiding countries worldwide to develop sustainable water projects, underscoring the Kingdom's commitment to prioritizing water scarcity on its global agenda. This commitment was further solidified with the announcement by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, regarding the launch of the GWO. This initiative aims to establish a unified global platform for tackling water scarcity and achieving sustainable development goals.

Dr. Abu-Mouti praised the Kingdom's efforts in spearheading national, regional, and international advancements in the water sector. He lauded the United Nations' leadership in pursuing Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal No.6, which focuses on ensuring access to clean water and sanitation services for all.
