World Sports Summit Expands Speaker Roster With Global Icons In Dubai

The organising committee of the World Sports Summit confirms a new wave of speakers, taking the total line-up to about 70 names. The event takes place on 29th and 30th December at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, under the theme "Uniting the World Through Sport", and targets a global sports audience.

Sports leaders, decision-makers and world champions are scheduled to participate, reflecting a wide range of disciplines. The latest announcement includes football icons and a major boxing figure. Among them is Oleksandr Usyk, the undefeated Ukrainian boxer and Olympic gold medallist, who has become one of the leading world champions in recent years.

Didier Deschamps heads the newly announced third list of speakers. Deschamps is widely recognised in French and international football circles. Deschamps achieved a historic double by winning the FIFA World Cup as a player in 1998 and repeating the feat as coach of the French national team in 2018.

The organisers outlined the main names joining the World Sports Summit programme in different football categories. The following table summarises the confirmed stars and their primary achievements.

Several prominent footballers from Europe also join the World Sports Summit roster. Bacary Sagna, who built a long career in the English Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester City, appears on the list. Ian Rush, Liverpool’s all-time leading scorer and a standout of 1980s English football, is also included.

Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero, celebrated for a distinguished spell with Juventus and a key role in Italy’s national team, will participate. Peter Crouch, known for contributions to the England national side and multiple Premier League clubs, joins as well. Patrice Evra appears too, after winning domestic titles and the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United, in addition to international success with France, underlining the summit’s strong football presence.
