Third World Police Summit In Dubai Aims To Strengthen Global Security Collaboration
Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the third World Police Summit commenced with notable presence. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, graced the opening ceremony, marking the beginning of a pivotal event aimed at 'Uniting Global Police Forces for a Safer Tomorrow'. Hosted by the Dubai Police from 3 to 7 March at the Dubai World Trade Centre, this summit has attracted participation from over 65 countries, featuring more than 170 speakers, over 70 security leaders, and 130 exhibitors.
The summit serves as a global platform for police and security leaders, law enforcement agencies, and experts to enhance collaboration, exchange information, and discuss new developments and challenges in combating crime and enhancing community safety. Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, in his opening address, highlighted the summit's role in fostering innovation and sharing best practices to address law enforcement challenges.

One of the key highlights mentioned by Al Marri was the introduction of more than 10 awards across criminal, traffic, and community fields. He also spotlighted Dubai's innovative strides such as the Drone Box initiative—an AI-powered platform for deploying drones that has significantly reduced emergency response times—and the upcoming launch of a floating Smart Police Station. This station is poised to offer comprehensive services in multiple languages to over half a million people by 2030.
Al Marri underscored Dubai Police's commitment to enhancing its human resources' capabilities as a cornerstone for excellence. He shared an inspiring story of a police employee's rehabilitation journey following an injury on duty, emphasizing the importance of mental and physical wellbeing for employee loyalty.
The summit also celebrated international collaborations with a nod to the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) on its 131st anniversary. The Crime Prevention Conference that kicked off on the first day underscored the significance of international collaboration against crime and explored mechanisms for strategic plan sharing and operational coordination among law enforcement bodies.
This gathering not only showcases Dubai's leadership in promoting safety and security innovations but also reinforces the UAE's position as a hub for major international conferences and events. The World Police Summit is set to continue fostering dialogue and partnerships that will contribute to making communities safer across the globe.
