World Muslim Communities Council Delegation Strengthens Dialogue During Visit To Xinjiang Region
Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the World Muslim Communities Council, recently visited China. He met with Erkin Tuniyaz, Chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People's Government. The visit aimed to enhance dialogue and cooperation with religious, academic, and research institutions in China.
The delegation also attended the 3rd International Symposium on Countering Extremism in Urumqi, Xinjiang. This event brought together policymakers and representatives from over 25 countries. The goal was to exchange expertise and strengthen international efforts against extremist ideologies.
During his visit, Dr. Al Nuaimi also met Li Yifei, Chairman of the Communist Party Committee of the People's Congress in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. This meeting took place during the 7th China-Arab States Expo in Yinchuan. Dr. Al Nuaimi praised China's management of cultural and religious diversity as a global model.
Li Yifei expressed satisfaction with the delegation's visit and emphasized the importance of ongoing dialogue between China and the Arab world. He noted that their historic ties have lasted over a thousand years, highlighting the significance of maintaining these connections.
Dr. Al Nuaimi underscored that Islam is a religion promoting peace and coexistence. He stressed that it should not be misused to threaten others. He also highlighted that relations between China and the Islamic world are based on mutual respect and learning from each other's experiences.
The Council's visit reflects its ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue among Muslim communities globally. It aims to promote moderation and peaceful coexistence, contributing to social harmony and sustainable development worldwide.
A Diverse Delegation
The high-level delegation led by Dr. Al Nuaimi included scholars and representatives from Islamic and academic institutions focused on dialogue and understanding. Participants came from Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Mali, Nigeria, and Serbia.
Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized that today's world requires wise leadership to maintain stability and achieve positive outcomes for all involved parties.
