World Green Economy Summit 2025 Welcomes 16 Local And International Sponsors For Climate Action
The World Green Economy Summit (WGES) is set to hold its 11th edition under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This event, scheduled for 1-2 October 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, is supported by 16 organisations globally. The summit's theme, ‘Innovating for Impact: Accelerating the Future of the Green Economy’, highlights Dubai’s leadership in climate action and low-carbon economic transition.
Organised by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO), WGES aims to foster discussions on sustainable development. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Chairman of WGEO, stated that the summit serves as a pioneering platform for global sustainability efforts.

Al Tayer emphasised the summit's role in promoting clean energy transition, green finance expansion, climate equity, and youth empowerment. He said: "Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the World Green Economy Summit continues to consolidate its position as a pioneering platform supporting global efforts to build a more sustainable future."
The summit will gather leaders and experts worldwide to discuss various topics. These include technology and innovation, clean energy sources, policies and regulation, finance, climate equity, adaptation and resilience, and youth involvement in climate action. This comprehensive agenda aims to address critical issues in advancing a sustainable future.
The growing interest from international organisations in sponsoring WGES reflects confidence in its mission. The list of sponsors features prominent names such as Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Dragon Oil, Emirates NBD, DUBAL Holding, National Bonds, Dubai Green Fund, Al Etihad Energy Services (Etihad ESCO), Moro Hub, Dubai Media Incorporated; Forbes Middle East; CNBC Arabia; Arabian Radio Network (ARN); AGMC; and the US-UAE Business Council.
Al Tayer highlighted that through this platform they aim to mobilise efforts supporting communities most vulnerable to climate change impacts. Strengthening public-private partnerships and leveraging innovation are key strategies for achieving tangible global outcomes. The summit underscores Dubai’s commitment to fostering an inclusive green economy model.
This year's WGES will serve as a crucial meeting point for decision-makers to exchange expertise on pressing environmental challenges. By focusing on collaboration across sectors and regions, it seeks to drive impactful solutions that contribute to a resilient global economy.
