World Governments Summit 2025 Anticipates Record International Participation With Global Leaders And Experts

The 12th World Governments Summit is set to occur in Dubai from 11th to 13th February 2025, themed 'Shaping Future Governments'. This year promises unprecedented international participation, marking the largest gathering in the summit's history. The event will bring together global leaders to discuss strategies for sustainable progress and prosperity.

Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit Organisation, highlighted the summit's evolution into a leading forum for governments worldwide. He credited the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for its success. "The World Government Summit has achieved its prominent status through a unique and forward-thinking vision," he stated.

Record Participation at World Governments Summit 2025

The summit will host over 30 heads of state and government, alongside 80+ international organisations. More than 140 government delegations and over 6,000 participants, including global experts, are expected. The agenda includes 21 global forums exploring future trends across more than 200 interactive sessions.

This year's summit focuses on six key themes: Effective Governance and Accountability; Financing the Future; Climate Crisis Mitigation; Human-centric Futures; Global Health Transformations; and Emerging Frontiers. These themes will be explored through various forums such as the Future of Mobility Forum and the Artificial Intelligence Forum.

Ministerial meetings will also take place during the summit. These include gatherings like the Arab Government Administration Forum Ministerial Meeting and the GCC Labour Ministers Meeting. Discussions will cover topics like AI, development cooperation, emerging economies, government communication, family businesses, and tourism.

Prominent Attendees

Several world leaders are confirmed to attend, including Prabowo Subianto from Indonesia and Andrzej Duda from Poland. Other notable attendees include Anura Kumara Dissanayake from Sri Lanka and Gustavo Francisco Petro Urrego from Colombia. This diverse representation underscores the summit's commitment to global collaboration.

Leaders from key sectors such as technology, health, media, aviation, transportation, and tourism will also participate. Notable figures include Sundar Pichai of Google and Joseph Tsai of Alibaba Group. Their presence highlights the summit's focus on addressing global challenges through innovative solutions.

Strategic Reports and Awards

The summit will launch 30 strategic reports developed with international knowledge partners. These reports aim to accelerate progress towards Sustainable Development Goals by offering key indicators and innovative solutions. Additionally, several prestigious awards will be presented to recognise exceptional contributions to building a better future.

Awards include the Best Minister in the World Award (in partnership with PwC) and the Creative Government Innovations Award. The Global Award for Best Government Applications is also among those recognising outstanding achievements in governance.

This edition marks record-breaking participation with a significant increase in attendance compared to last year. Delegates from every continent representing various sectors will gather in Dubai. The summit aims to unify governments worldwide by fostering economic, social, and governmental progress towards equitable development for all.
