World Governments Summit 2024: A Crucial Venue for Government Best Practices, Says Sultan Al Neyadi
Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, recently highlighted the significance of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2024 as a pivotal platform for sharing and learning about the finest government practices. This event, held in Dubai, saw the participation of distinguished ministers from across the globe, all converging to exchange their insights and expertise in governmental operations.
During his interaction with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Al Neyadi pointed out that the WGS fosters an environment conducive to dialogue between the public and private sectors. This dialogue aims at uncovering and implementing top government practices effectively. The summit featured a plethora of enriching activities, including workshops, discussions, and global forums, with a particular focus on the vital role of youth in governance.

The Arab Meeting for Young Leaders was one of the key highlights of the summit, graced by the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. This session underscored the UAE leadership's commitment to celebrating and maximizing the involvement of youth in governmental roles.
Another significant session titled "National Identity" was held on the final day of the WGS. It delved into the future challenges that youth face concerning their national identity and its ties to history. The session aimed at guiding young individuals towards making informed and positive decisions. Additionally, the Best Minister in the World Award was spotlighted for recognizing outstanding global government ministers who have contributed significantly to excellence in governance.
Al Neyadi also lauded the Federal Youth Authority's role in fostering youth empowerment and engagement across various societal sectors. He mentioned ongoing efforts to launch several youth initiatives aimed at harnessing their creativity and ideas.
The WGS 2024 wrapped up on its third day under the theme "Shaping Future Governments," witnessing broad regional and international participation. The summit's closing day saw attendance from numerous heads of state and governments. It brought together 120 government delegations and over 85 international and regional organizations along with global institutions. The event attracted more than 4,000 participants, including a selection of global thought leaders and experts, thereby marking a successful conclusion to this year's summit.
