World Defense Show 2026 Day Two Focuses On Innovation And Integrated Defence Strategy

The World Defense Show 2026 moved into its second day with a strong spotlight on innovation, integration, and future capabilities, as Saudi Arabia continued efforts to build an advanced defense ecosystem. Organised by the General Authority for Military Industries, the event brought together senior leaders, industry experts, and investors to support national industrial growth and long-term defence transformation under Vision 2030.

This edition of World Defense Show 2026 hosts 1468 exhibitors from 89 countries, reflecting broad international interest in Saudi Arabia’s defence ambitions. Participants from air, land, sea, space, and security fields attended live demonstrations and strategic programmes, while high-level engagements explored how technology, localisation, and supply chains can support the Kingdom’s long-term industrial objectives.

World Defense Show 2026 Day Two Innovation

The day opened with a keynote address by GAMI Governor Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, who underlined Saudi Arabia’s goal of establishing a modern, globally competitive defence industry. Al-Ohali said the Kingdom is continuing to invest in a sector based on innovation and partnership, emphasising an integrated approach to defence and security that supports industrial development and future readiness.

Al-Ohali highlighted that World Defense Show 2026 mirrors the Kingdom’s ambition to take a leading international role through advanced defence technologies. These technologies aim to increase military readiness, reinforce supply chains, and expand localisation across the sector, in line with Vision 2030 targets for economic diversification and strengthened national capabilities.

Senior Saudi defence leaders then used a series of strategic discussions to outline how the Kingdom’s armed forces are adapting to global operational trends. Chief of the General Staff General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili delivered an address that stressed the importance of building an integrated, future-ready defence posture, explaining how evolving threats and technologies are shaping Saudi Arabia’s defence transformation.

Alongside these leadership sessions, the Content Theater Program began its official agenda, gathering senior Saudi and international speakers. Panels and talks covered industrial development, aerospace expansion, defence-focused investment, and stronger supply chains. These discussions reinforced the Kingdom’s strategic direction and underlined a commitment to creating a connected, technology-driven defence ecosystem that can meet future operational needs.

Beyond the main conference halls, activity at the Future Defense Lab and the Saudi Supply Chain Zone continued throughout the day, offering interactive platforms for experts, companies, and investors. These areas supported technical engagement and practical demonstrations, while also encouraging collaboration on capability development, localisation projects, and new industrial partnerships linked to Saudi Arabia’s defence sector plans.

CEO of World Defense Show Andrew Pearcey said: "Day Two demonstrated the Kingdom’s growing influence in shaping the future of defense technologies and industrial capability. Through strong participation, forward-looking programs, and strategic leadership, WDS continues to serve as a global meeting point for innovation and collaboration."

World Defense Show 2026 is scheduled to run throughout the week, with further live demonstrations and strategic programmes planned across all defence domains. As discussions continue and agreements develop, the event remains a central platform for aligning Saudi Arabia’s defence industry ambitions with global partners, reinforcing the drive toward advanced capabilities and long-term industrial transformation.
