World Defense Show 2026 To Introduce New Features And Expanded Venue For Defence Integration

The World Defense Show (WDS), established by the General Authority for Military Industries in Saudi Arabia, is set to introduce new features at its third edition in 2026. Scheduled from February 8 to 12 in Riyadh, the event will highlight advancements in defense technologies across air, land, sea, space, and security domains. The theme for this edition is "The Future of Defense Integration."

WDS 2026 aims to surpass previous editions by expanding its scope and size. CEO Andrew Pearcey stated that the show will have increased international and local participation. It will also feature a larger exhibition space with a focus on technological advancements, particularly unmanned systems and naval capabilities.

World Defense Show 2026 Expands with New Features

Since its inception in 2022, the exhibition area has grown by 58%, now covering 273,000 m3 with an additional fourth hall. This expansion reflects WDS's commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation among global defense stakeholders. The event aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's goal of localizing half of the Kingdom's defense spending.

Among the highlights of WDS 2026 are several new zones designed to enhance integration across defense operations. The Future Defense Lab will showcase innovations from startups to global leaders. The Unmanned Systems Zone will present advancements in autonomous technology across all defense domains.

The Naval Zone will provide insights into maritime defense's future role in global stability and economic security. Additionally, the Saudi Supply Chain Zone will connect local small- and medium-sized enterprises with key players in the global defense supply chain.

Networking Opportunities

Attendees at WDS 2026 can expect strategic networking opportunities and discussions on crucial topics transforming the defense landscape. Live and static displays will offer insights into cutting-edge technologies. Pearcey emphasized that feedback from previous editions has been overwhelmingly positive.

"We have received resounding positive feedback from the previous two editions, exceeding our expectations across the board," Pearcey noted. He added that ambitious goals have been set for 2026 to enhance networking opportunities and collaboration between startups, SMEs, and industry leaders.

The World Defense Show continues to play a significant role in Saudi Arabia's growing defense sector. By bringing together global participants, it strengthens international partnerships while contributing to local industry growth. The upcoming edition promises an unmatched experience for attendees as it builds on past successes.
