World Crisis And Emergency Management Summit 2025 Set To Begin In Abu Dhabi With Global Leaders
The World Crisis and Emergency Management Summit 2025 (WCEMS) will take place in Abu Dhabi on 8th-9th April at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This event is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor. Organised by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), it aims to foster global resilience.
Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of NCEMA, highlighted the UAE's proactive role in international crisis response strategies. He stated, "Under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, our nation has become a proactive global partner in shaping cross-border crisis response strategies. The UAE stands today as an international model of readiness and response, a catalyst for positive global change, and a strategic contributor to shaping the future of humanitarian and security action globally and regionally."

The Summit will begin with a keynote speech by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence. His address titled "Global Resilience: Protecting Future Generations" will focus on strategic foresight and cooperation to protect future generations from crises. Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri will open the first thematic track with "Unlocking the Future," discussing global capabilities.
Kamaladdin Heydarov from Azerbaijan will follow with "Building Resilient Systems: Strengthening Global Cooperation for Crisis Preparedness." Fabio Ciciliano from Italy will present "Perils to Harmony: A Community-Centric Approach," emphasising community involvement in resilience building. Carlos Torres Vidal from IAEA will conclude with "Connecting Global Capabilities: A United Front."
The Summit includes six workshops aimed at enhancing crisis management skills. Topics cover Institutional Leadership in Crisis Response, AI Applications in Risk Management, and Emerging Technologies in Emergency Management. Running alongside are two exhibitions: Crisis Management Technologies showcasing innovations, and Generation Readiness promoting community preparedness.
Fahed Buti Al Muhairi will introduce the Bridging Potential theme with pathways for integration and collaboration. Pete Gaynor will discuss crisis leadership in "Empowering Global Cooperation: Challenges and Opportunities." Kilian Kleinschmidt’s talk "From Crisis to Opportunities" will explore turning emergencies into sustainable progress.
Exploring Advanced Strategies
On day two, discussions will delve into Managing Uncertainty, focusing on advanced strategies for emerging risks using AI for rapid decision-making. The Adaptive Economy pillar will explore innovative strategies for future crises and enhancing economic cooperation during crises.
Lars Sudmann will close the Bridging Potential track with a motivational talk titled "Breaking Barriers for a Better Tomorrow," highlighting strategic leadership during crises. This session aims to inspire leaders to adopt innovative approaches in challenging times.
The Summit promises significant international participation, uniting ministers, officials, experts, academia, private sector representatives, and more. It serves as a platform for signing cooperation agreements to enhance knowledge exchange and develop integrated global crisis management policies.
