Workshops And Dialogue Sessions Showcase Best Local And International Practices In Falconry At Riyadh Exhibition

The International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition is currently taking place at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Centre in Malham, north of Riyadh. Running from October 3 to 12, the event includes workshops and discussions focused on falcon care and breeding. More than 400 exhibitors from 45 countries are participating, offering a diverse range of insights into falconry.

Visitors have the opportunity to attend 26 workshops and sessions led by speakers, trainers, investors, and researchers from local, Arab, and international backgrounds. These sessions aim to provide valuable scientific content related to falconry. The exhibition showcases both local and global best practices in falconry, highlighting key initiatives and modern technological innovations.

The event also focuses on legislation concerning falcon export and investment. It aims to increase public awareness about environmental issues related to falcon hunting. On the second day, many visitors engaged with speakers during a workshop titled "Art as a bridge… documenting the legacy and future of falconry." Kazakh artist Yesengali Sadyrbaev discussed how falconry symbolizes Arab culture through creative perspectives.

French Falconer Philippe Hertel conducted a workshop called "Sustainable falconry… hunting by falcons at airports: What are the possible problems?" He explored methods for organizing airport areas for sustainable falconry practices. This session was part of broader efforts to address challenges in integrating falcons into modern environments.

The Saudi Falcons Club is committed to promoting initiatives that conserve falcons and sustain the hobby of falconry. Through workshops, dialogue sessions, and specialized focus groups at the exhibition, they aim to facilitate knowledge exchange on investing in this field. The club emphasizes environmental sustainability alongside preserving traditional practices.
