Women In Technology Forum 2023 Highlights Female Leaders' Role In Innovation
The 6th Women in Technology Forum, hosted by Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK), began with Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, SPARK's Chairperson, present. The event gathered female leaders, tech experts, and young entrepreneurs globally. Sheikha Bodour highlighted women's crucial role in innovation and the need for their increased involvement in science and technology.
Sheikha Bodour stated, "Women have always been engines of social progress, shaping health, education, and care systems." She emphasised the importance of women being central to technological advancements by combining their strengths with emerging technologies to create resilient systems and ethical innovations.

The forum's theme was "Future Lifestyles," featuring keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops on health technologies, AI and robotics, sustainability, and smart lifestyles. A CEOs' panel discussed policies empowering women in innovation sectors. The Sharjah Youth Council organised a session for young people to share their visions.
Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, UAE's Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, stressed linking technological progress with sustainable development. She praised the forum's efforts under Sheikha Bodour's leadership as an inspiring model for women worldwide.
Prominent speakers at the forum included global experts and female entrepreneurs who provided insights into advancing women's roles in technology. Their contributions offered a worldwide perspective on enhancing women's participation in this field.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SPARK, remarked: "Innovation thrives when diverse voices come together. Women’s participation in technology is vital to building sustainable knowledge economies." He expressed SPARK's commitment to creating opportunities for women innovators to lead future advancements.
