Witthal Gulf Industries Announces AED 40 Million Investment For Lithium Battery Recycling Plant In KEZAD

Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD Group) and Witthal Gulf Industries have entered a 50-year land lease agreement to build a modern plant in Taweelah, KEZAD. This project, with an investment of AED 40 million, will establish the UAE's first lithium battery recycling facility. The collaboration aims to create a sustainable infrastructure for recycling lithium batteries.

The recycling plant will utilise advanced technology to process end-of-life batteries from industries like electric vehicles and solar farms. This process will recover valuable materials such as black mass, copper, and aluminium, producing sustainable alternatives. The initiative supports the UAE's net zero goals by offering solutions for industry waste.
