Green Economy Collaboration: WGEO And AmCham Dubai Forge Strategic Partnership

The World Green Economy Organisation and the American Chamber of Commerce in Dubai have agreed a new Memorandum of Understanding during the World Governments Summit 2026, held under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments.’ The accord aims to deepen public-private cooperation, link American companies with global green economy priorities, and support practical projects that back sustainable growth in multiple markets.

The MoU sets out a formal structure for collaboration between WGEO and AmCham Dubai. Under this framework, American firms in AmCham Dubai’s network can align their technologies and services with key green economy priorities, access emerging opportunities, and engage in structured discussions on policy and market needs across WGEO’s member countries and partner institutions.

Green Economy Partnership: WGEO AmCham Dubai

One major feature of the green economy partnership is WGEO’s Private Sector Platform. WGEO will open this platform to AmCham Dubai member companies in a structured way. This access is intended to help American businesses connect with public entities, financial institutions, and international organisations, while shaping projects that reflect both commercial goals and national sustainability agendas.

The initiative also aims to translate corporate expertise into projects that are relevant for different markets. Through WGEO’s network of countries, companies can identify opportunities, form partnerships, and take part in programmes that seek measurable economic and environmental outcomes. This is designed to place American businesses in a stronger position within the global green transition.

AmCham Dubai will, in turn, engage with WGEO’s International Organizations Platform as part of the green economy partnership. This role allows both organisations to participate jointly in global discussions and cooperative initiatives. It also supports AmCham Dubai’s engagement with multilateral partners, ensuring American business interests are represented in debates on green economy policy, regulation, and market development.

Through this arrangement, WGEO and AmCham Dubai intend to act as a link between American businesses, decision-makers, and youth. The two organisations plan to encourage investment in sustainable projects, strengthen policy dialogue, and promote long-term cooperation on the green economy. Their shared work is expected to support economic growth while seeking reduced environmental impact.

The MoU was signed by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of WGEO, and Sammy Bousaba, Chairman of AmCham Dubai. The ceremony took place during the World Governments Summit 2026 and was attended by Robert Raines, US Consul-General for Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Waleed Bin Salman, Vice Chairman of WGEO, Abdulrahim Sultan, Director-General of WGEO, and Cara Nazari, CEO of AmCham Dubai.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of WGEO, commented, "As we gather at the World Governments Summit to shape the future of governance, this partnership highlights the essential role of cross-sector collaboration in advancing the green economy. Connecting the American business community with WGEO’s global vision and platforms will help accelerate the green transition and generate tangible economic and environmental outcomes." Al Tayer added, "This MoU represents a significant opportunity for both parties. It creates a structured pathway for American companies to contribute meaningfully to green economy priorities across international markets, while expanding their own growth and partnership horizons. Engaging in this dialogue at the World Governments Summit reflects a shared commitment to remaining at the forefront of shaping the future economy."

Sammy Bousaba, President of AmCham Dubai, stated, "AmCham Dubai is pleased to support an initiative that reinforces the importance of public-private partnership. This MoU with WGEO establishes a clear pathway for American companies to contribute their expertise and innovation in support of green economy priorities, economic growth, and environmental progress. By connecting American business capabilities with globally aligned objectives, we are helping translate shared ambitions into practical outcomes."

Through this green economy partnership, WGEO and AmCham Dubai are formalising a channel that links American companies with global sustainability platforms and discussions. The collaboration seeks to support concrete projects, enable policy engagement, and reinforce the role of the private sector in advancing green economy goals across international markets, including those in the wider Middle East.
