WETEX 2025 Highlights Emerging Sectors Driving UAE’s Sustainable Economic Transformation
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is hosting the 27th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from 30 September to 2 October 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This event is held under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. WETEX is expanding its focus on future-oriented sectors, aligning with global trends to enhance energy transition and net-zero progress.
WETEX serves as a significant platform for exploring opportunities from rapid global changes. It identifies proactive solutions to climate change impacts, ensuring stakeholders lead in sustainability. This year, AI innovations supporting green mobility, digital transformation, and clean energy adoption are highlighted. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, stated that WETEX reflects the UAE's development under its wise leadership. "The exhibition consolidates the UAE’s position as a reliable partner in efforts to shape a more sustainable and resilient future for all," he said. The event supports the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy and Dubai's Clean Energy Strategy 2050 by turning climate ambitions into reality.
Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber emphasised WETEX's role in promoting advanced technology for sustainable development. He noted that it aligns industrial growth with sustainability goals while boosting investment in clean technologies. "The UAE has established itself as a global model in climate action through pioneering national strategies," he added.
Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak discussed how WETEX showcases groundbreaking technologies enhancing water and energy resilience amid climate challenges. She highlighted reverse-osmosis desalination, agri-tech solutions, wastewater repurposing goals, and solar installations as examples of sustainable practices driving economic growth.
