WETEX 2024 To Showcase Global Innovations In Dubai This October
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is set to host the 26th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from 1st to 3rd October 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This announcement comes from Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX. He highlighted the exhibition's role in bolstering the UAE and Dubai's initiatives to enhance international collaboration for a swift energy transition and the achievement of net-zero emissions, aligning with the UAE's Year of Sustainability.
Al Tayer emphasized WETEX's status as one of the world's premier specialized exhibitions, offering a unique platform for global participants to discover the newest technologies, solutions, and innovations. These efforts are directed towards addressing both current and future environmental challenges, aiming for a sustainable future for all. The exhibition is instrumental in supporting the objectives of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which seeks to source 100% of Dubai’s total power production capacity from clean energy by the mid-century.
The support from various stakeholders, sponsors, and partners continues to grow, making WETEX an annual event for sharing expertise, concluding deals, forging partnerships, and exploring investment opportunities in both local and regional markets. The previous edition of WETEX in 2023 saw participation from approximately 2,600 companies across 62 countries and garnered support from 76 sponsors from various local and international companies and organizations. It featured 24 international pavilions from 16 countries and spanned an area of 78,000 square meters.
WETEX has established itself as a critical pillar in realizing Dubai’s ambitious clean energy strategies. Through its annual iterations, it not only showcases the latest in technology and innovation but also facilitates meaningful discussions on sustainability practices. The exhibition's growing influence underscores its importance as a meeting point for industry leaders looking to make a positive impact on the planet’s future.
