WETEX 2024 Day Three Features 44 Seminars On Energy, Water, And Sustainability Innovations
The third day of the 26th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) featured 44 seminars and discussion panels led by global experts. Organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), WETEX was held under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The event took place from 1st to 3rd October 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
A seminar titled ‘Utilities Trends and Innovation’ was conducted in Arena 1. It included participation from Digital DEWA, Moro Hub, Bidgely, NAFFCO, Dell Technologies, Intel, and AW Rostamani Group. CNBC Arabia journalist Maisa Eid moderated this session. The seminar explored various innovations in utility management and technology trends shaping the future.

Day Three's main seminars covered diverse topics such as ‘Clean Energy’, ‘Navigating the EV Revolution’, and ‘Energy Efficiency’. Other sessions included discussions on ‘Environmental Friendly Cables’, ‘Industrial Applications of Dry-type Transformers’, and ‘Next-Generation SCADA Systems’. These sessions aimed to provide insights into sustainable energy solutions and technological advancements.
Exploring Waste Management Innovations
The Future Energy Landscape Forum featured sessions on waste management innovations in the oil and gas sector. Topics like ‘Dragon Oil’s Waste Management Initiatives’ and ‘Emerging Technologies in O&G Waste Management’ were discussed. These sessions focused on transforming waste challenges into opportunities through innovative technologies.
Transportation Electrification Insights
The Clean Energy Business Council MENA introduced clean energy concepts followed by DEWA's presentation on E-Mobility. Sessions like ‘Transforming Transportation: Electrification and Beyond’ highlighted trends in sustainable mobility. Discussions also covered ESG pathways towards a carbon-neutral economy, emphasising strategies for climate resilience.
Water Sustainability Discussions
Water seminars addressed topics such as supplying drinking water to remote areas and atmospheric water generation. Sessions also explored eco-friendly sterilisation solutions by Korean Water Partnership (KWP) and innovative bio fouling monitoring technology. These discussions aimed at revolutionising water sustainability practices.
Health and Safety Innovations
The Health and Safety Hub hosted seminars focusing on improving health and safety approaches. Topics included road transport safety, construction safety, occupational diseases, UAE’s regulatory impact, workplace well-being, home safety risks, and more. These sessions aimed at enhancing safety standards across various sectors.
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Sessions
SRM sessions on Day Three covered DEWA’s environmental overview and engagement with SME suppliers. Discussions highlighted DEWA’s transparency in supplier dealings, aiming to foster better relationships with small businesses through effective management strategies.
The exhibition concluded with a comprehensive exploration of innovative solutions across water, energy, technology, environment sectors. Participants gained valuable insights into emerging trends that are shaping these industries globally.
