Saudi Arabia Braces For Heavy Rain, Hailstorms Across Multiple Regions
Recent forecasts from the National Center for Meteorology have indicated that several regions across Saudi Arabia are set to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by hailstorms. This weather phenomenon is expected to affect Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Riyadh. Additionally, fog is anticipated to envelop parts of the mountains in these regions as well as Al-Jawf Province, creating a significant impact on visibility and potentially affecting travel plans.
The center has also predicted dust-stirring winds in the Madinah and Eastern regions, which could further reduce visibility and air quality. For those planning maritime activities or travel, the forecast includes detailed predictions for wind speeds and wave heights across the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf. In the Red Sea, winds are expected to be northerly to northwesterly in the northern part, reaching speeds of 15-35 km/h, and up to 45 km/h in the central part. The southern part will see southwesterly to northwesterly winds at speeds of 15-45 km/h. Wave heights will vary, with calmer seas in the central part ranging from one to two metres and more turbulent conditions in the northern and central parts with waves reaching up to two and a half metres.

In contrast, the Arabian Gulf is forecasted to experience southwesterly winds at speeds of 12-32 km/h in the northern part and westerly to northwesterly winds at speeds of 15-45 km/h in the southern part. Wave heights here are expected to be more moderate, ranging from half a metre to one metre, with sea conditions described as calm to choppy.
This comprehensive weather update serves as a crucial reminder for residents and visitors in the affected areas to prepare accordingly. Whether it involves adjusting travel plans or taking necessary precautions against potential flooding and reduced visibility, staying informed about the latest weather conditions is essential for safety. The National Center for Meteorology continues to monitor these developments closely, providing timely updates to ensure public awareness and preparedness.
